I firmly believe in harnessing our passions to create a life filled with joy and purpose, while also forging meaningful connections with others. Every single day, I consider it a great honor to show up and make a positive impact, whether it's for the people around me or for my own personal growth.

From a young age, I discovered my love for cosmetology, fitness, nutrition, and music. Even in grade school, I found joy in playing with hair and makeup, always eager to experiment and create. As a young adult, I dedicated myself to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with a consistent gym routine and running regimen. Rain, shine, snow, or ice, I was up and out the door at 5:45 am, six days a week! Along the way, I became deeply passionate about sharing my knowledge of diet and exercise with anyone who would listen.

However, life threw me a curveball in my mid-thirties. One fateful morning, I was involved in a serious accident with a tractor trailer while on my way to cosmetology school. Although I was fortunate enough to escape with non-life-threatening injuries, it was a wake-up call that made me realize the true value of my exercise experience and knowledge.

As I consulted with specialists to determine the best path to recovery, I was advised to give up running and abandon my dreams of a career in cosmetology. With only two months left to complete my requirements and take the boards, I felt overwhelmed and isolated in my recovery. Yet, I was given a glimmer of hope when I was encouraged to embrace yoga as a means to strengthen my core and delay surgery until later in life.

A dear friend gifted me a membership to a local yoga studio, and it was a life-changing experience. Not only did I take care of my physical body, but I also nurtured my emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. After each class, I felt invigorated, grounded, and clear-headed. I knew in my heart that I needed to immerse myself deeper into the world of yoga.

Although I respect my doctor's advice, I couldn't fully accept giving up on my dreams of cosmetology and running. Determined to overcome adversity, I returned to cosmetology school and resumed my running routine. There were days when doubt crept in, but my stubbornness fueled my perseverance. I worked as a hairstylist for two years and eventually purchased the salon where I had been employed in 2008.

Driven by my love for dancing, I decided to take an instructor workshop in Zumba. This led me to become a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA, allowing me to teach both Zumba and group fitness at the same studio where my journey began. When the gym eventually closed, I knew deep within that I had to continue teaching, both for myself and my students. That's when I made the decision to open my own fitness studio, expanding upon my existing business, Scissorgy Day Spa.

Since then, I have furthered my expertise by becoming a YogaFit Instructor and a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to do the work that I am passionate about. Every day, whether I'm in the salon or the fitness studio, I relish the opportunity to work with students of all levels. I believe in the power of education, empowering my students to develop a strong mind-body connection and gain a deeper understanding of alignment. By ensuring our workouts are safe and effective, and our yoga practice is gentle yet purposeful, I strive to maximize the value of their investment. Through my own journey of overcoming injuries, I have developed a wealth of knowledge on training and recovery. I firmly believe that even with limitations, we can always find our way back.

When I'm not immersed in the studio or salon, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors, walking or hiking alongside my husband and our two rescue pups. Our rescue kitty patiently awaits our return at home. I also cherish quality time spent with our children and grandchildren. Additionally, I find joy in the company of dear friends, exploring new dining experiences, indulging in music, and lending my voice to my band during singing sessions.

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to connect with you and share my journey. I look forward to being a part of your own journey towards a life filled with passion, health, and happiness!
